St. Patrick's Day In London!
Irish celebration and a taste of Irish culture.

London celebrated Saint Patrick's Day with a festive parade. Marching bands, floats, and Irish organizations marched down Victoria Street towards Trafalgar Square where the official gathering took place. Although many English spectated to watch this Irish celebration by crowding the city streets, some didn't enjoy it. While walking behind the crowds I recognized a statement from an older English woman "these Irish are all into them damn selves". Apparently the equivalent celebration of St. George in England is not permitted a parade to this extent in London, and some English were unhappy. This is one of the early years the parade has taken place and from the half decorated and inconsistent flow, it was obvious. Although, the parade was semi-lively and helped illustrate how the Irish celebrate. I wondered why I wasn't in Dublin today.
