William Walton & Prince Charles
London's Philharmonia and Joshua Bell play Walton's masterpieces at Royal Festival Hall

Tonight, my friend Nigel introduced me to William Walton's film score to Shakespeare's "Henry V" at Royal Festival Hall. Our seats were located directly inside/behind the orchestra close enough to read the trumpet's notes. This classical program included four pieces from "Henry V": Brass Fanfare, Suite from "Henry V", Violin Concerto, & Symphony No.2. Accompanying the London Philharmonia Orchestra was world renown violinist Joshua Bell, who provided an exceptional performance.

Walton is a composer meaningful to Britain's history and died in 1983. This performance is a part of many events celebrating Walton at Royal Festival Hall. Walton is savored by British culture explaining why Prince Charles attended the concert. Not only did I become exposed to British war history through music, but also saw Prince Charles, the next in line to the throne, live in person. This classical concert was quite exciting.
