I
think America isnt ready for the brutal political "in your face"
comedy that is taking place in London. The comedians tore and verbally
disgraced the "billionare cave man" Osama Bin Laden on Tuesday
night at The Comedy Store. The show consisted of 60 percent war topics
and 30 percent other news stories. There were jokes about anthrax and
topics americans would find too touchy or controversial. But we were
laughing our arses off and we loved it! Jokes such as the irony of "american"
food being dropped from the sky on refugee Afghans with the directions
in English, French and Chinese telling the hungry dry desert refugee
to find a moist towelette to prepare the meal. The show was hilarious!
The
show also included an American comedian who apparently didnt recall
the situation with Gary Condit when I made the reccomendation upon requesting
a topic for the improv section. The show was similar to the makeup of
"Who's Line Is it Anyways" but more of a stand-up response
rather than a performance. British comedy is excellent and probably
too brutal for soft americans.
By
the way, whatever happened to the Gary Condit drama? The most "important
issue" in American has just vanished, i guess it wasn't that important
afterall.
