Naples, the Unexpected City!

Real Italians, Real Italy, a Really great time!.

Naples is by far the heart of Italy, and definitely my favorite portion of the trip. If you continue ignorance and avoid visiting this street smart place you are flat out stupid. People are friendly. Once you know one person they say you know them all. I went out to a bar one night and introduced myself to an Italian girl who turned around and introduced me to the entire building.

The attitude in Naples is very unique… No schedules and nothing planned, its all a surprise. The trains follow the same schedule. I went shopping on via Toledo and asked the workers of a store what time they were going to close and they replied “we don’t know… we really don’t know..” and that’s basically how everything runs.. no rules!

I completely fell in love with the city and decided to stay for the new year’s celebration, especially after picturing crazy Neapolitans into one wild celebration. In Italy, Naples is notorious for the place not to spend your new years because you may not live to tell it. They take everything and anything they do not need for the next year and throw it out the window, that’s right! The streets is not the place to be as you will get hit, an’ there ain’t no ambulanzia comin’ foya’ ass either!

Basically if you haven’t been to Naples you haven’t been to heart of Italy!

But without these problems it would be different.Outside Alcott, an Italian branded American style imitation of Abercrombie, Caribbean Santa bangs his Christmas drum beatsOn the streets many people make a living playing accordions that bring the streets to life. It operates almost everyday and night, at least through the Christmas periodThe sidestreets off Via Toledo are nice too look at. They didn’t succeed to steal my things but they are quick.Fishing is part of the culture in Naples On Sunday they have the largest fish market south of Piazza Garibaldi. Its thick and creamy, the way it used to be before America ruined the novelty of the product. But one downfall is that if you spill it, it will be an interesting mess as you see here. The best breakfast in town! I had to eat this piece of bread with butter, jam, and tea for an entire week at Ostello Mergellina. Not to add that I was awaken everyday through a microphone and the plywood sound proofed doors.
