Pisa, Italy

Leaning for Pisa
Just minutes late, on the tower's reopening day, to go up to the top.

From the Cinque Terre via La Spezia we arrived for a few hours in Pisa to see the tower, Duomo, and necessary landmarks. We originally didn't plan to visit Pisa, but decided to after being mislead with train schedules from a lady. The good news was that we came to Pisa the reopening day of the tower since the early 1990's. The bad new was that we figured this out a bit late and didn't have ourselves together in time to be in the last tour up the tower. But you can say we were the first to see the last of the first people go up?..... I will be signing autographs if you are interested.

Click on the "Pisa" link or scroll down the page to view pictures of the tower and Pisa.

In La Spezia before Pisa we relaxed in the warm sunshine feasting on our vino rosso, proscuitto, bread and cheese. For awhile proscuitto, bread, vino rosso, and cheese became my
favorite for cheap snacking.

Sarah taking a breath of fresh Pisa air along the bridge over the canal. Two backpacks, one in front and one in back is the way we traveled.
The leaning tower close up. The Duomo close up. The tower in its lean.
