The Milk Party 2010

The Milk Party 2010

If you’re looking for something fun and meaningful to do in Los Angeles on Saturday, May 22, I recommend that you attend The Milk Party, which begins at 7 pm at Madame Tussauds Wax Museum on what would have been Harvey Milk’s 80th birthday. The evening will be a celebration in honor of the First Annual Harvey Milk Day of Recognition (signed into law by California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger) and the Gay American Heroes Memorial.

The fabulous roof top party will overlook Hollywood Boulevard and Grauman’s Chinese Theatre with a spectacular view of the city, and guests will be invited to explore the museum at their leisure with cocktails in hand from the open bar. Then DJ Tony Nuccio will be getting everyone in the groove to dance the night away under the starlit Hollywood sky.

The hosts for the evening are John A. Perez, Speaker of the California Assembly; Stuart Milk, nephew of Harvey Milk, representing The Milk Foundation; and Scott Hall, founder of the Gay American Heroes Memorial. Comedian Christine O’Leary is the Mistress of Ceremonies with celebrity appearances by cast members of LOGO’s Big Gay Sketch Show and RuPaul’s Drag Race, actress Daniela Sea (The L Word), singer/songwriter Josh Zuckerman, actress Ellen Greene (Little Shop of Horrors, Pushing Daisies), actress Kathy Najimy (Sister Act, Soapdish), actor/comedian Bruce Vilanch, comedian Simone Campbell. and Academy Award-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black (Milk).

Tickets are $40, and 100% of the proceeds benefit The Harvey Milk Foundation and The Gay American Heroes Foundation. To purchase tickets, go to www.TheMilkParty2010.com.
